Hometown Spending Reaps Yearlong Economic Rewards!
This holiday season, the City of Avondale encourages you to “Keep Green in Avondale.” You may not always be aware of it, but spending your hard earned dollars at home in Avondale reaps yearlong dividends for you and your community!
With the downturn in the overall economy, Avondale relies now more than ever on the sales tax from every dollar spent in the city.
We are not asking people to spend more – but we do encourage you whenever possible to shop in Avondale, since every cent of every dollar of city sales tax money is spent on services and programs for our residents such as: police and fire services, streets, water and sewer services, and parks and libraries.
Sales tax provides nearly half of the City of Avondale’s General Fund revenue, which in turn funds necessary services to Avondale residents and businesses. So just remember the next time you go shopping or take the family out to dinner, be sure to support Avondale businesses, which in turn support our local community; Keep GREEN in Avondale!

Get a free environmentally-friendly re-useable shopping bag (while supplies last). You will also be entered for a chance to “WIN some GREEN” in the form of local shopping gift cards valued at $25 or more.
One entry per person – need not be an Avondale resident. Valid receipts will demonstrate purchases of general merchandise, groceries, restaurants or fuel and include the merchant name and date of transaction. Original receipts ONLY. Raffle will be pulled throughout the evening of the Holiday event.
