 Avondale Detective Michael Allread passed away unexpectedly September 1. He was 38 years old, and had been employed with the City for six years. His loss is deeply felt by his co-workers at the Avondale Police Department and all who knew him. The funeral service was held September 6 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church and Detective Allread was laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Michael had a deep caring for mankind. He had an ability to help people laugh, even in the most difficult times. In times of need, Michael was right there, lending a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on.
Family was very important to him; be it his children or his police family. He dedicated his professional life to making a difference. Through his work, his family, his friends, and his life pursuits he touch many lives making a difference just by being who he was. Michael Allread will be missed. Michael, thank you for helping make our community and our organization a better place.
