Specific Area Plans

Specific Area Plans supplement the General Plan and provide detailed guidance for future land use and development.  The City has adopted four specific area plans to date.  The boundaries of each specific plan are generally as follows:

City Center Specific Plan:  The general boundaries are Interstate 10 on the north, 111th Avenue on the east, the Avondale Civic Center on the south, and 119th Avenue on the west.

Freeway Corridor Specific Plan (PDF, 2.66MB) : The general boundaries are Encanto Boulevard on the north, Coldwater Springs Boulevard on the south, 99th Avenue on the east and Dysart Road on the west.

North Avondale Specific Plan (PDF, 2.82MB) : The general boundaries are Indian School Road on the north, Encanto Boulevard on the south, 99th Avenue on the east, and Litchfield Road on the west.

Tres Rios Greenway Specific Plan (PDF, 2.21MB) : This addresses lands within the City of Avondale that are located in close proximity to the Aqua Fria River, the Salt River, and the Gila River.
