Annexation Process

The City Clerk's Department is responsible for the processing of requests for the annexation of properties into the City of Avondale.  In order to be considered, a written request must be submitted in writing to the attention of the City Clerk.  The written request must contain the following information:

    Property address

 

    Legal description of the property and/or Assessors Parcel numbers

 

    Current land uses of all parcels, identify all existing structures and infrastructure 

 

    Proposed land use of all parcels

      NOTE: If a residential development is proposed, identify the number and      
type of residential structures planned; rental/purchase costs; construction   
schedule for each phase; build-out completion date; estimate of expected      
population by race.  This information is required for administrative pre-clearance per the Voting Rights Act of 1965, as amended.

 

    Name, address and telephone number of all property owners of record

 

    If request if being submitted on behalf of the property owner, please attach authorization for representation

 

    Name, address and telephone number of contact for request

 

    $4,000 deposit (check payable to City of Avondale)
