Avondale's Board, Commission and Committee members are civic minded citizens who advise the City Council and City Manager on issues pertaining to their board, commission or committee. BCC members are the perfect example of what Avondale the best city in the West Valley.

You are invited to help us fill current and upcoming vacancies in the following Boards, Commissions and Committees:

  • Board of Adjustment
  • Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) Citizens' Committee
  • Correctional Officers Retirement Pension Plan (CORP)
  • Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Committee
  • Fire and Police Public Safety Retirement Pension Boards
  • Municipal Art Committee
  • Neighborhood and Family Services Commission
  • Parks, Recreation and Libraries Advisory Board
  • Personnel Board of Appeals
  • Planning Commission

To be appointed, please submit an application.  You will then be invited to participate in a Meet and Greet with a subcommittee of the City Council.  The subcommittee will make recommendations for appointment to the City Council.

Eligibility: 
  1. Eighteen years old or older
  2. Resident of Avondale for a minimum of one year by the time of appointment
  3. Registered voter

Term:
  • Residents will be appointed to serve three-year terms.  Residents may serve up to two consecutive terms in a committee, but may serve in up to two regularly scheduled BCCs.
