Adult Softball Leagues

Avondale adult softball offers Men’s and Co Rec Slow Pitch at Festival Fields. The emphasis is on healthy competition in a recreational environment. The leagues are organized, conducted and administered under USSSA guidelines.  Each season consists of 7 weeks of double headers.

Attention:  Adult softball Players in the Avondale Area 

 

Avondale Adult Drop-In Social Softball is being offered in 2010 by the Avondale Recreation Department, 6 – 9pm every Saturday night from September 4 - December 11 at Friendship Park softball field.   Drop on over with a friend or by yourself or with a group of friends.  It’s free and open to men and women ages 18 and older.

Billy Moore Heritage Days Softball Tournament

October 2 and 3 - depending on registration

This is a Mens and CoRec Slow Pitch tournament played at Festival Fields.

Tournament is organized and conducted under modified USSSA guidelines.

Tournament is double elimination

12 teams per division limit

Deadline to register is September 29

The Luke West Valley Recreation Committee is hosting the 3rd annual West Valley Senior Games on November 20th. Senior Softball Tournament will be held at Goodyear Community Park in Goodyear.  3151 N. Litchfield Road

All men ages 50 years and older are welcome to play on a team. 

Cost:  $250.00 per team 
Pre registration is required

Limit 8 teams
Double elimination

Prizes: 1st, 2nd and 3rd

T-shirts will be provided for each player
* 12 per team

Lunch will be provided for each player.

All rules will be sanctioned by Senior Softball.  Some rules will be modified.
Must show proof of age.

The Luke West Valley Recreation Committee (a subcommittee of the Luke West Valley Mayor’s Council) is pleased to announce its 3^rd West Valley Senior Games scheduled for November 20, 2010.

 

  The West Valley Senior Games is proudly presented by Robson Resort Communities and will take place at Pebble Creek in Goodyear and will have a variety of athletic events for all participants 50+ of age.  West Valley Senior Games is endorsed by Arizona Senior Olympics.  Each registered participant receives an event t-shirt, goodie bag and lunch.

These are competitive divisions in the sporting events.  Team and individual categories for some events and competitions are in age groups 50+, 60+ and 70+.  Medals will be awarded Olympic style.

            Bocce – Men, Women, Co Rec 4-man teams

            Horseshoes – Men’s Doubles/Mixed, Women’s Doubles

            Tennis – Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles

            Pickleball – Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles

            Softball – Men’s – Limited to 8 teams

            Swimming – Men and Women – Various medleys, freestyle, butterfly, backstroke,

breaststroke, IM, and relay

            Time:                          7:30 am registration begins

            Registration Costs:     $20.00 per person per event early registration by Nov. 4

T-Ball/Coach Pitch   

Youth learn the fundamentals of baseball in a safe, fun, and non competitive environment.  Every child plays and bats. Score is not kept and all games end in a tie!! Each child receives a team shirt, MLB hat and award.  Volunteer coaches are needed.  8 weeks total including 2 weeks of practice before games start.  Practice starts week of August 16.   T-ball ages 4-6; Coach Pitch ages 6-8, (6 if they played t-ball one season).  Ages as of August 16, 2010

   

Fee:  $30.00 per resident   $36.00 per non resident early registration by July 29
         $40.00 per resident   $46.00 per non resident   July 30 - August 5

Start Smart Football and Golf

Start Smart is a six week instructional program that helps parents work one-on-one with their children introducing the fun of and fundamentals of football and golf. Parental involvement is mandatory!  Space is limited to the first 20 participants. League is played at Friendship Park football field. Football ages 4-6* and golf ages 5-7*.  Age as of 9-02-2010

Football: Saturdays 9-10am
Golf: Saturdays 10-11am

Fee: $40.00 per resident $48.00 per non resident early registration by August 26
       $50.00 per resident $58.00 per non resident August 27 - September 2
