Avondale All-America City Finalist
All America City Banner-sm.jpg
The City of Avondale was one of twenty finalists for the National Civic League 2016 All-America City Award (AAC). The award, given to 10 communities each year, celebrates and recognizes neighborhoods, villages, towns, cities, counties, tribes, and regions that engage residents in innovative, inclusive, and effective efforts to tackle critical challenges.

The focus of the 2016 All-America City Award was on communities that have taken innovative action to engage residents in ensuring that all children are healthy and supported to succeed in school and life. The three Avondale programs highlighted in the AAC application were Kids at Hope, the Care1st Avondale Resource Center, and Let’s Move!

An Avondale delegation presented the city’s story to a jury of nationally recognized business, local government, and philanthropic leaders on June 17-19 in Denver, Colorado. Through workshops and conference representation, the delegation shared insights with innovators from across the country. The event was also the stage for Avondale to compete for the coveted All-America City title! #AviAAC16    #AAC16

This is our presentation to the jury for their consideration of the City of Avondale as a 2016 All-America City.
