The City of Avondale offers recycling services to our customers to help them live an environmentally conscious lifestyle. Avondale began its recycling program in January 2003.  Residents received once-a-week garbage service in the black container and once-a-week recycling service in the blue container.

Does your CAN smile?
 recycle can sticker City inspectors will make periodic check of recycling contents throughout the community.

Residents with recycling contents contaminated with garbage will be issued a notice.

Those that pass the inspection will get a smile sticker on their recycle can.

Do Recycle
Pickle jars, beverage bottles, etc.
Newspapers and ad inserts, magazines, catalogs, phone books, white paper, paper bags, junk mail, envelopes and any other clean dry paper. Please place shredded paper in a clear plastic bag.
Empty food boxes like cake, cracker and cereal boxes (without plastic insert), milk and OJ cartons, paper towel tubes, broken down large boxes.
Food and Beverage Cans
Aluminum beverage cans and steel cans like soup, pet food, tuna, fruit and vegetable.
Empty Aerosol Cans
Shaving cream, deodorant, and cooking spray.
Any #1 - #7 Plastic container.
(Packing materials only) no food boxes or cups
 Small metal appliances, pots & pans

Do NOT Recycle
No glass cookware, car windshields, mirrors or construction glass.
No garbage
Diapers, air or furnace filters, pet waste, food, garden hoses.
No yard waste
Grass, rocks, leaves, branches.
No construction materials
Cement, wood, shingles, drywall, construction glass.
No plastic bags, motor oil containers, shrink wrap. 
Plastic bags, can be recycled at your local grocer,
No clothing or shoes
No automotive parts, car tires, or batteries
No appliances or electronics
