Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS)
 is an important part of the Avondale Police Department and a valuable asset to law enforcement in the community. VIPS help to increase police responsiveness, service delivery, administration and distribute public safety information in Avondale. Volunteers are appointed to volunteer in one of the following areas of the Avondale Police Department: Assistance in Disaster – A.I.D., Citizen Patrol, Communications, Community Services, Crime Analysis, Criminal Investigation Bureau, Southwest Family Advocacy Program, Animal Control, Records or Special Services.

How to Volunteer

Background Screening

All volunteers with the Police Department undergo the same rigorous background screening as all employees of the Avondale Police Department are required to. Prior to submitting a request for information, please take a look at the Disqualifications page, which lists the most common automatic disqualifiers.
