Avondale Youth Advisory Commission (Students Grades 9-12)
The Avondale Youth Commission helps shape the future of Avondale by providing input to the city leaders, conducting community services projects and attending leadership development opportunities. AYAC meets at Avondale City Hall the second and fourth Monday of every month at 6 pm. (We encourage students to begin attending the meetings and volunteering for projects as early as their 8th grade year.)

Next STEP
(Ages 16-21)
More than just another job, the Next STEP Program provides qualified Avondale teens with work readiness training, a paid work experience, tuition assistance and a jump start on the competition.

Applications will be accepted at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2016 at the Avondale Community Center, located at 1007 S. 3rd Street. The deadline to submit an application is 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2016. 

Genesis Youth Center (Ages 14-24)
Offered through a partnership with Maricopa Workforce Connections, the Genesis Youth Program is designed to assist youth in gaining the skills they need to become self-sufficient through education, employment, and leadership activities. If eligible, participants will work with a Youth Career Guidance Specialist to creat a personalized plan for a successful future.

Global Youth Service Day
Youth make a difference in Avondale! Global Youth Service Day is conducted in partnership with local schools and youth-serving organizations to encourage service to others and demonstrate the valuable contributions that youth can make.

Kids at Hope
Kids at Hope provides the City of Avondale with a framework for creating a positive and supportive environment to assist yuth in achieving their full potential as caring and productive citizens. Kids at Hope inspires, empowers and transforms schools, organizations serving youth and entire communities to create an environment and culture where all children experience success, NO EXCEPTIONS!
