Billy Moore Days Postponed

Billy Moore Days has been postponed until the Fall of 2010.  Please check back at a future date for more information regarding this event.

Tres Rios Nature and Earth Festival

4th Annual Luke West Valley Recreation Family Fun Expo

The Luke West Valley Recreation Committee is hosting the 4th annual Family Fun Expo.  Join us for a day of family fun including the pet.  Many recreational opportunities and information of the West Valley cities programs.  Something for everyone, including Pet Expo, with Chihuahua and Wiener Dog Races, Stupid Pet Tricks, Youth and Teen basketball competition, Youth Art Show, Skateboard competition, Best of the West Softball Tournament, kids zone, Young Country band and Radio Disney stage and much more. 

3 Point Shootout -
Show your skills from downtown!  Sign up for the 3 point shootout.  All ages welcomed. 

Groups:  Youth - Ages 16 and under
              Adult - Ages 16 and up

Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each age group

Check in time is 11:00 am.  Competition begins promptly at 11:30 am.

2 Ball Competition -
2Ball is an exciting, fast paced, basketball shooting competition.  Teams of 2 players will have 60 seconds to shoot from 6 marked spots and score as many points as possible.  All ages are welcomed!

Groups: Youth - Ages 16 and under
Adult - Ages 16 and up

Prizes will be awarded for the winning team.

Check in time is 11:00 am.  Competition begins promptly at 11:30 am.

Wiener and Chihuahua Dog Races -
Bring the family pet and enter them in the always fun Wiener and Chihuahua Dog Races.  Number of dogs in each race will be determined based on registrations.

Check in at 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.  Races begin at 12:30pm.

Cost:  $5.00 per dog

Prizes awarded in each breed.

Stupid Pet Tricks - 
Bring out your dog, cat, bird or any animal that can do a trick.  All tricks welcomed.  
Special judges:
    K9 Officer Tony Fernandez with Doerak - City of Avondale
    K9 Officer James Sinohui with Ringo - City of Avondale
    K9 Officer Jarrot Tevault with Sinbad - City of Tolleson
    
Check in at 11:00 am - 12:00 pm  Stupid Pet Tricks contest will follow the Wiener and Chihuahua Dog races.

Cost:  $5.00 per animal

Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places

Industrial Rideshop Skateboard Best Trick Contest
All ages welcomed to compete in this year's Skateboard Best Trick Contest.  Best trick category for different age groups with possible three (3) obstacle course.  Registration is on site the day of the competition.   Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each age group.  Prizes include skateboards, shirts, drinks, stickers and more. 

Cost:  Free
Registration from 11:00 - 12:00.  Contest begins at 12:00.

Youth Art Contest
Kids, join the fun and enter the Healthy Kids, Family Fun Contest.  Draw a picture or series of pictures depicting what Healthy Kids, Family Fun means to you. 

Rules:
May be Black/White or color
Must be on a 11x17 poster board or paper
Place your name, age, and phone number on the back
Age groups:  5-9 and 10-15 years of age
Turn in your final project to your classroom teacher or your local Recreation Department by April 12
Winners will be announced on April 24th at the Family Fun Expo

One winner from each age group will win a party a Wazees World for them and their entire classroom.
