Elephant Walk
Momma Ruby Elephant SculptureArtist:  Fredrick Prescott
Dedicated:  November 17, 2007
Location: Friendship Park

The theme for this project is family, friendship, companionship and this pair of elephants depicted as though they are trekking across Friendship Park epitomizes the bond between mother and child, the importance of family and companionship and the joy of just being around those you love. Ruby is 10 feet high and 12 feet long and her head is balanced in such a way that it moves in the wind, helping to create the effect of a real par of elephants on a trek across the park. Ruby was named in honor of the painting elephant at the Phoenix Zoo.  The budget for this piece (both elephants) was $63,000.
